Hugs n' Kisses

Sew N' Tell Friday!
This garland is perfect for the holidays, I got the pattern from my "one yard wonders" book. It's made from moda fabric- L'Amour by Sandy Gervais.

I started to blanket stitch the felt letters by hand but figured if I wanted it done by Valentines then I need to figure something else out because my machine does not have the blanket stitch, but I found that the blind hem stitch does work!
And here is a full photo of the table runner. I just cut up a bunch of 2 inch strips and started sewing.
And you have seen some clips of the this but not the whole picture. I finally got the binding on it finished. These are also moda fabrics from the Urban Couture line. They are fat quarters that I got for a buck each at the quilt show in August. I didn't have a pattern for this either, I just started cutting up 3 inch strips (i think) and sewed white to the ends, It's kinda like a brick layout.

and the back is just one piece of fabric.
And my mom n law showed me how to bind a quilt perfectly and I have to admit I have mastered the skill. I love how the corners turned out.

Thanks for looking! And be sure to check out the other Sew N' Tells!

  2. Great finishes. I have a charm pack of the Urban Couture range and was thinking of making a table runner. I really love the red and the blue colourways. Good work on the binding. It looks like it has definately been mastered. Love the backing fabric.
