Bloggers Quilt Festival

I picked this quilt because it is one of my firsts. This is the first quilt I stippled on my machine (and it shows) My house is full of yellow and red so this is a nice break from the norm. This quilt is actually inspiring me to repaint my home. The colors are so relaxing and "cool"

I have also learned that moda fabrics are the best. It is worth it to spend more money on the good stuff. Oh and I didn't use a pattern for this, just went with it.
I also realized that hand stitching the binding is the way to go...nothing compares, this is also where I mastered my corners..I just love the binding on this, don't you?

And the back is also from the Urban Couture line....butterflies with swirls, it is so relaxing.
i want to thank Amy for putting together the Bloggers Quilt Festival to give us all a chance to share our quilts.
Thank you so much for looking, don't forget to check out all the other MORE amazing quilts...

long arm quilting

I did an all over quilting of roses, this is freehand with a lot of practice on paper first. I think I did okay, this is my 4th quilt on the long arm... I just bought some really cheap fabric from Joanns. It is not pieced, that is just the fabric design...
And the binding is my absolute fabric part! Thanks for looking!

Took a Quilt Reliever

So I made time to quilt. Just dropped everything and started sewing and can I just tell you how good it feels. I was able to forget about everything else and my puppy loved it too. I think he misses the sound of my machine. As soon as I started it up he fell asleep right at my feet. So this is a sneek peek at what I have been working on. I hope it turns out cute..
I'm going to do a bunch of Long Arm Quilting this weekend so I will have a couple finished quilts to show you soon!

storage chest

so i have been wanting a storage chest to put at the end of my bed for a really, really long time. I wanted one really simple like these that I found at www.mycountrytreasures.com But of course I can never find something like this in the stores. The ones I find in stores can range from $300-$500. and they are really bulky and short and square.
So with the help of www.knock-offwood.com I was inspired to make by own storage chest. I love it because it will be skinnier and longer, it will be great on the end of my bed.

I still need to attach the top, i can't decide yet what I want for the top...then the most time consuming part will be priming and painting...I'm going to paint it white.

The next post will be the finished product!!! I hope I like the results.
