Bedside Organizer

So this is a pattern I followed from my new book. This took me about an hour, it was so easy, the binding is what took so long.

but I think it turned out so cute in Georgie's room. She keeps her portable dvd player in it and some remotes. You could even put your ipod in it, books, glasses, water bottle, etc.
I want to make one for myself so my night stand can stay clutter free.

i have a problem..

If there was a rehab for quilters I think I would have to check myself in. I cannot stop sewing! My mother n law gave me a gift card to Barnes and Noble and I found this book... It has 101 sewing patterns in it!! These are a few projects I want to get started on right away...
This is a mobile but i thought the birds would be cute as tree ornaments if you made them out of really cute christmas fabric.
This is a cute little doll house!

Georgie wants me to make this for her...of course I will add my own special embelishments to make it cuter.
And I think this little doggie is so cute. I have never attempted a stuffed animal type thing so I thought this would be a perfect project for me.

This is a quilt I stippled on my own machine, the stippling did not turn out the best, I will be keeping this quilt for myself anyway.

I have realized the sewing is no longer a challenge for me...It's finding the time... that's the tricky part.

So Relieved

I got my quilt finished! By "first quilt finished" I mean, I stippled this myself!! My first time at free motion quilting and it was not that hard at all? this is a christmas gift to my parents. I hope they like it-I know I do!

It just didn't fill right with the pinwheels surrounding it. Now this I love, love, love. I cannot stop staring at it. Can't wait to get it quilted!

Pop Garden!

My most favorite pieces of material to work with is By Heather Bailey and it's called Pop Garden. I love the flowers so much I didn't want to cut it up so instead i'm just going to border it with some patchwork designs. Still not finished....

Pop Stars Top is complete!

I love it! I love how the squares came together perfectly! (well nothings perfect). And I love this picture of it with the sun shining and a slight wind passing by. And here it is on my bed. I think I'm going to go a step further and add a border with 2 inch squares around the quilt.

And of course Zuko is with me every step of the way. While I was piecing it together he had to lay right in the middle of it.
This is his favorite place to be :)

Merry and Bright Quilting!

Just finished my very first tabe runner and could not wait to show it off! Thanks to the Homespun Holiday Show N Tell...here it is. I made it from the Merry and Bright Charm pack. (love those charm packs)

This is the beginning of my tree skirt. I made it out of a turnover pack in crazy eights fabric...

Quilted and binded and under the tree! I was able to do some free motion around the border. This was my first time and I did it! This is the back.

And here is the front.

And then this is just a little ornament I made.

Thanks for stopping by... Happy Holidays!

Just for Christmas

This was so much fun and fast to do. I bought the crazy eight turn overs and just started sewing. I will finish it up at my mother n laws with her fancy quilting machine. It is going to be a tree skirt. This table runner was made using the moda charm packs! My mother in law has a wonderful commercial quilting machine that I got to use for the first time! It's amazing and you will see a lot more finished projects from me.
Here is a Halloween Runner I did out of a Charm Pack...

Stars around Town quilt

This is what I have been busy doing. Each block is a combination of paper piecing and applique...

It is so much fun I just can't wait to get it all done.

And what are going surround all these blocks are these primitive stars, they are also paper pieced.

Halloween

Georgie was Goldie Locks! Zuko was a pumpkin but he won't move when we put him in it so it came off. All the cousins met up at Nana's house. Carley as a cheerleader, Chloes was Minnie Mouse and Lijah was a Spider!

Here they are right after eating a whole bunch of candy and right before the sugar high....

This is the result of too much sugar!! haha, they went crazy! Looks like Carley is unconcious! They had so much fun, it was too funny to watch them!

The General Store

Just finished another block for my stars around town quilt.
It's mainly paper piecing.
There are 16 blocks to be made and I have 9 more to go.

Urban Couture...

This is what I have been working on lately. Just a basic strip quilt. When I first bought this fabric I loved it! Then I started cutting it and didn't like it anymore so i put it away for a while. I decided to bring it out the other day to work on and I do like it again! I'm just not sure what color of border to put around it. Should it be brown? Blue or Yellow?

Barbie Wardrobe

Thought I would make her an outfit or two. Making Barbie clothes is so hard!
But it's a lot of fun and if you mess up, there is not a ton of fabric being wasted.
I love making these gift bags! This one will hold my yummy zucchini bread!

cutest turkey ever..

I just love this little guy. I think the colors came out perfect! I love tea towels, they are so fun!

it's been a while...

My computer has been running like crap lately so I haven't even bothered, but it is up to speed now.
I love these hot pad pinchers. They are so handy and easy to make, I should demonstrate them. Then Ithought this was the perfect way to show off all my fabric that I got from the quilt show. My dvd's were all over the place too so I made a dvd case.

Work in Progress

I usually don't post my projects until they are done but I don't know when this will be done. It's going to be an irish chain quilt with stars. I'm making this out of all my scraps. Here are the scrappy nine patches...
This is a Rooster pattern, I just need to finish the boarder, its going to be a red checkerboard border. I'm not too fond of quilt hangings. I will probably frame this.

Bountiful Blessings

I love stitchery, I'm sure I have said that more than once, I also enjoy applique! I'm not sure what I want to do with this one? I think I will frame it. I just thought it was incredibly cute and just perfect for Thanksgiving.
And this is just a hot pad I made, it's actually called a Pot Pincher. They are really handy, this one I made for me. I have more in the making.
