For Laci By: Sharon Rocha
Now this is a heartwarming book. Laci Petersons mom writes it. The book talks about the trial, what kind of person Laci was, what kind of person they thought Scott was and what it's like to lose a daughter. She takes you back to the day she went missing, the searches, phone conversations her and Scott had. She even mentions a time that she was in court testifying and she looks over and Scott Peterson and his lawyer are laughing!! What a monster. It also makes you appreciate big families. Sharron Rocha had a lot of support from family & friends. It's ends with her mother telling us a dream that she had of lacy after the trial was over. The ending is beautiful, this book will bring a tear to your eye.
The Witness By: Amber Frey
This story is Amber Frey's version, the lady who Scott was dating while married to Lacy. Amber did not know at the time but she did have doubts about Scott, things were too good to be true. In her book she talks a lot about herself? and she also has the telephone conversations that she and Scott have which is also weird, I don't see how she could talk to him so much knowing that he murdered his wife and son? But she did. Scott was a compulsive liar. I find it funny that Scott never wanted children yet Amber had a 2yr old daughter that Scott always bought gifts for.
Book Thief By: Markus Zusak
I did not really like this book, not saying it's a bad book, it just did not keep my attention till the very end. I never finished this book. It takes place in Germany when Hitler ruled. Its about a girl who goes to live with a foster family. They end up loving her as her own, she learns to read then steal books from the mayors home, she develops a crush on the neighbor boy, nothing unique about the book. It's during the war and they hide a jew in there basement but then he leaves, she grows up, there's not very much action.
Memory Keepers Daughter By: Kim Edwards
This started out great, about a husband who is also a doctor who delivers his wifes twins. The baby girl comes out with down syndrome so he decides to give it away. The mother does not know because she is under meds so when she wakes up her husband told her that the twin girl died when it was born. What happens is the daughter ends up growing up and her and the mother reunite but only after the husband dies...I didn't ever finish it, nothing too exciting happens that makes me interested.
