These slippers are what gave me the inspiration and I'm so happy she posted a simple tutorial on her blog.

The flowers that I added were my own pattern.

I heart yarn!

So these ones I made as a gift so they don't fit me..

See, they are a little baggy around the ankle but for a size 9 foot it will feet perfect.

I immediately wanted a pair for myself, here is a little work in progress of them.

And here they are on me! So snug warm and perfect! I would like to  embelish them a little but my feet were cold and I was in a hurry.   

Hope you like what you see! I'm going to make More, more more!

crochet accessories

I went to DownEast Basics the other day and they had the cutest accessories. If you have ever been there then you know exactly what I mean, i love there clothes too. Everything is so unique and hand made looking, its like a boutique. Anyway...I love there necklaces and they had one with 3 crochet flowers on it for $14.99. I looked at it and thought...Why buy it when I can just make it!

So I crochet 3 flowers using this pattern  I used a G hook and just place it on felt with adhesive on the back then start cutting it out so you can't see the felt...you can see I started cutting the left side then took a pix so you can see.

here it is on the right side..  Then I attached ribbon in between the felt and the flower.

And here we are! you can't even see the felt can you? but I didn't have anything to put in the middle of the flowers and i thought the buttons would make it look too "Crafty"

So I ended up just tying knots of little bits of yarn and gluing it in the middle of the flowers.

And here it is all complete! I am very happy with it! The skein of yarn was $2.50 (with my coupon of course)

Not bad when I could have paid $14.99!

Before I go I want to tell you about a Crochet Along I found on:

          I'm so excited! It couldn't have come at a better time. I have a cowl scarf that I made last year that I absolutely love and I want to make another one then I came across this and they are doing a cowl crochet along! Yay...if you don't have a cowl you need to make one and  you will fall in love. I just love how you just put it over you neck like a necklace but you don't have to worry about the loose ends. and it's so cozy, its like wearing a loose turtleneck but without the bulky-ness of a heavy sweater!

flowers have bloomed!!

I have been working on these for a while and I'm so glad I stuck with it!

I owe it all to the Flower Bed blog seeing all those pretty flowers kept me going!

I made all different sizes and altered the sitches slightly to get a differnt look.

But I used a small B hook for all the flowers.

And I made it for my daughter, she has to wear uniform colors so I made this with those colors and she wore it to school today. I'm curious to see if they make her take it off...it may be too bold?

More Crochet

I made a navy blue crochet flower headband for my daughter and it turned out so cute, she wore it to school and we didn't think much of it. Well all the girls absolutely loved it and said they would pay her to make one!

Well...so we did, I made a red one (which i didn't have time to take a picture of) and this pink one and her friends paid $3 each for them....kinda exciting huh?

I love these ones with the chains as the band...they are so cute and kinda hippie looking.

I've been taking time away from sewing to crochet....I can't wait to show you what I have in mind with these flowers.

And I love these colors, my project will consist of just pink, turquoise, gray and white.

gonna try this recipe next:

To start: Ch 6 and slip st to make a circle
Row 1: ch 3 (counts as first dc),  11 dc into the circle = 12 dc (1 is the chain 3), slip st to connect
Row 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc), *ch 2, dc into the chain space and ch 2*, *repeat for each chain space = 12 dc total (1 is the ch 3 and 11 dc)
Row 3: add new color in a chain space and ch 3(counts as first dc), 3 dc in the chain space, *ch1, 4 dc in chain space*, * repeat into each chain space = you will have 12 groups of 4 dc's around the circle

Here is where it gets tricky. Note: this may not be what the pattern really should be, but this is what I did and I think it looks like it works.
Row 4: Start your new color in the chain space. Slip st until you get to the second stitch of a group of 4 dc. Ch 5 and slip st into the third dc stitch. Continue to slip st until you get to the next group of 4 dc's. So you are going to slip st around the entire circle and making a chain loop at the second and third stitch (the middle) of each group of 4 dc's.
